School Messenger is the notification platform used by Leander ISD to connect with parents and staff through voice, SMS text and email broadcasts. The service is proven to positively impact academic achievement, increase parent involvement, reduce absenteeism and dropouts, and save staff time. It comes with rock-solid infrastructure and always available 24x7x365 live customer service and support. This communication service is for parents of LISD students and staff members of LISD only.

Parents of students in Leander ISD are automatically enabled to receive communications from their child’s campus(es) and the district. You may unsubscribe at any time from this service, but please be aware that all our of communications — both general announcements and emergency information — will be disseminated via School Messenger.

If you need to make any changes to your email address or phone numbers, please contact the campus registrar at your child’s school. Parent/student information is imported into our School Messenger communication system and is updated on a nightly basis.

SMS Text Messaging

Leander ISD is excited to announce the launch of a new service that will enhance communication by allowing us to deliver important information to you via SMS text messaging. This service is not intended to replace our existing means of communication – rather it will enhance them. SMS text messaging is currently reserved for emergency situations.

This SMS text service is for parents of LISD students and LISD staff members only.

***Before performing the opt-in process below, you’ll want to ensure that your child’s school has your wireless number(s) in the student information database for each child. If you haven’t already provided that phone number to your school, please contact them and provide them with that wireless number.

In order to participate in the new service, you must indicate your willingness to receive text messages to your phone. The process is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete:

  • Simply text any one of the following words to the number 68453 : subscribe, optin, yes
  • You’ll know you were successful if you receive the following reply message: “You are registered to receive aprox 3 msgs/mo. Txt STOP to quit, HELP for help”.
  • You will need to repeat the opt-in process for any wireless numbers that you wish to include.

You are able to opt-in or opt-out of the text message service at any time.

Please note: Although the district does not charge you for this service, it does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you for sending or receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges.
